Ingres Prado Museum

This exhibition, organised with the special collaboration of the Louvre Museum, presents a precise chronological development of Ingres' work, but also looks very specifically at his complex relationship with the art of portrait painting, constructed through rejection and admiration, and which clashes with his constant ambition to be recognised, first and foremost, as a painter of History.

The work of Ingres, anchored in academicism in appearance only, undoubtedly constitutes an essential milestone in the march towards the artistic revolutions of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. A descendent of Rafael and Poussin, his work undoubtedly lit the way for Picasso and anatomical distortions, inspiring the renewal of 19th Century European schools, particularly in Spain.

The Atlético de Madrid Museum

Last Sunday I discovered a fascinating place which I can heartily recommend to all football fans who visit our city. The place in question is the museum dedicated to Atlético de Madrid, the team that won the last King’s Cup.

Let’s not forget that our beloved “Atleti” is the third Spanish team with the most titles, some of them as prestigious as the Intercontinental Cup, nine Spanish Leagues and ten King’s Cups, one European Cup Winners’ Cup, one Europa League and one Spanish Super Cup… Altogether, quite a treasure trove of national and international trophies that never fails to impress those who come to admire them. Here are a few interesting facts to complete your knowledge of Atlético de Madrid and, I hope, persuade you to come and visit this wonderful museum dedicated to sport… Even if you support Real Madrid!.

Gastronomy has increased their popularity in recent years and autumn is the perfect time to taste the gastronomic offer. Come to Madrid and enjoy its bars, restaurants and great ambiance.
